The 'Veterans to Technicians Program' creates pathways for skilled former military technicians to become Audi-certified employees.
Demand for Audi Dealership technicians is expected to soar 112% by 2020 as the brand continues U.S. market growth.
The program was developed with CALIBRE Systems, Inc. to support Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs Veteran/military transition initiatives.
Audi North Scottsdale is a proud supporter of Audi of America's new Veterans to Technicians Program. The brand is launching a new program aimed at attracting skilled former military technicians to Audi certified service department roles in dealerships across the country.
The new Veterans to Technicians program fills immediate needs for both U.S. Veterans and Audi retailers who expect higher demand for service technicians, shop foremen and service consultants as the brand continues its growth trajectory in the United States.
Emphasis will be placed on recruiting Veterans with proven automotive skills, but candidates with power generation, aviation, welding, electronics, hydraulic systems and maritime systems experience are eligible as well.
Veterans - Step up to the Challenge
The Veterans to Technicians Program provides highly skilled Veterans with the opportunity to apply, screen and qualify for potential employment. Veterans will receive individualized support from a team of dedicated program staff who will coordinate all facets of the candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring processes.
Veteran candidates with a strong military maintenance background, who meet Audi Brand Specialist foundational skills criteria, will be pre-screened to ensure they have the potential to meet dealership service technician requirements. Minimum targeted requirements include:
- An Honorable Discharge from the Military
- Technical training and performance (3 years or more)
- Valid Driver' license and clear driving record
- Basic pre-employment screening requirements

The Veterans to Technicians Program provides dealers with a one-stop solution to gain access to highly skilled Veterans. Dealers will receive dedicated recruiting, tax credit, and Veterans benefits assistance support through a self-renewing program that is customized to meet their needs.

Support for the 'Veterans to Technicians' program
The Audi Veterans to Technicians initiative supports the Veterans Opportunity to Work (VOW) to Hire Heroes Act passed by the U.S. Congress in November 2011. That act provides enhanced federal support for Veterans leaving the armed forces and for their employers.
Audi developed the program with CALIBRE, an Alexandria, Va. based management and technology services company. Calibre helps the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) develop transition support policies and programs for Veterans and service members leaving the military. Through this new initiative, Calibre will help connect Veterans and Audi dealerships with a wide range of available government benefits and employer incentives.
Outreach and eligible Veterans
Under the Audi program, CALIBRE will handle employment opportunity outreach to more than 1,800 military service alumni groups, major Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs), state Departments of Veterans Affairs, a vast number of public and private organizations that support Veterans and their families, and military transition assistance centers. Veterans who respond will be screened to ensure their technical experience matches the needs of an Audi dealership. Eligible Veterans must have an honorable discharge and three to five years of direct experience in a military unit's maintenance operations. Currently serving members of the National Guard and Reserve may also apply. Successful applicants also must pass pre-employment screening and a set of Audi technician skills checks. If hired by an Audi dealership, Veterans will complete the Audi FastTrack two-week training program to learn about Audi products and technologies.
