The new Audi lineup currently includes a sporty cabriolet already, a variant of the popular A5. Now, it's about to include another: the RS5 Cabriolet. At least that is what recent sources suggest. And, unlike some of the more flagrant rumors Audi North Scottsdale serving Phoenix is privy to, this one is actually grounded in some highly astute observations.
See, before any vehicle can legally go on sale in the state of California, if must first garner a certification from the California Air Resources Board. While some automakers subject their vehicles to the extensive certification process without having any intention of bringing it to market, we have a feeling that Audi is not simply going through the motions to prove they can.
Adding further clout to the hypothesis - the RS5 is headed stateside - is the fact that just a short while ago Audi confirmed plans to bring the RS5 Coupe to the U.S. A Cabriolet variant would serve as an ideal complimentary offering to the hardtop. Especially, when both promise a riveting 450 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque as well as all of the quintessential Audi trimmings enthusiasts could want, such as a dual-clutch transmission and Audi quattro AWD.
What do you think? If Audi does bring the RS5 Cabriolet to market, would you be interested in taking it for a spin around Phoenix? We invite you to leave a comment and let us know.
Also, remember if a cabriolet does not precisely fit your fierce yet sophisticated image, there are plenty of other new Audi models from which to choose, including the 2012 Audi A3, 2012 Audi A4, 2012 Audi Q5, 2012 Audi A6.
